Squish Specimen Animation
Glaucus Atlanticus Animation
My Virtually Wearable project was inspired by bizarre creatures of the ocean. I wanted to make face wearables out of these lovable little creatures. It was my intention to highlight Glaucus Atlanticus and Squish Specimen (i didn't write down the scientific name of this creature and cannot find the article, so I came up with my own name for it as squish). My project was incredibly difficult for me to make and tested my digital art making in an overall expansive way. Nothing I made came out as desired but I learned so much along the process that can guide me through future projects. Squish Specimen was fun to animate although it did not do exactly what I was expecting when it was uploaded into Effect House. Some of the detail and floating effects I tried to create get a bit lost. I ended up thinking of Squish Specimen as a hat that just does not want to stay on. After I was finally able to animate my Glaucus Atlanticus, Effect House would not import it because there were too many bones. I would have loved to have more time to intricately animate this creature and all 64 of its tentacles. Glaucus was going to be a nose wearable. Being able to create a creature and animate it is extremely awarding as an artist. I'm thankful I know how to make filters and hopefully in the future if I get better at it, can make an exceptionally strange wearable that will "break the internet".
